Bath Crayons & Superman

First up, let me say that the inventor of the bath crayon, while brilliant, was obviously a man. Or a woman who never cleans the bathtub. Blayne received some bath crayons as a gift awhile back but we kept them away from him for a long time because he preferred to eat them rather than color with them. That all changed about two weeks ago - he found the crayons and we let him go crazy. Then Sean had the great idea to draw some of Blayne's favorite things on the walls of our bathtub...

So this is what our shower looks like pretty much all the time now:
These are just some of his favorite things: SpongeBob, Winnie the Pooh, balloons, flags, the moon and sunshine (aka shunshine). I don't know if you can see it but he likes "sparkles" too (that would be stars - cause they go "sparkle, sparkle"!). Missing from these pictures is Wall-E and Eve who are normally up there next to SpongeBob. So now instead of cleaning the shower every week, I get to clean it every day. And it's still not really clean because the colors sorta stick to the grout and are impossible to remove with regular cleaning methods. On the plus side though, Blayne is entertained for hours and he LOVES taking baths with all of his fav characters and things to keep him company!

Another recent discovery is the Superman cape that Sean got for Blayne a few months ago. He wasn't really interested at first but he found that the other day and has been running around in a diaper and Superman cape ever since. And in case you were wondering Superman is pronounced "Mee Man." =) We tried to get a few pics of him "flying" but failed miserably...

These are just some funny pictures of him watching TV... I just had to include them 'cause he's so stinking cute!!

Oh and one last pic of Blayne with his PopPop and Gramma - taken at his baby dedication last weekend!!

Catching Up

Welp, it's been a busy couple of weeks! First of all, my amazing hubby graduated from Radiography school!! Yay!! And then, he passed the registry (which makes him totally official) with flying colors!! I'm so proud of him. Now all that's left is to find him a job! =) Here are a few pics from his graduation...

Then last weekend, we went out and got a bike seat for Blayne. We've been talking about it for months now and finally got one! We got him a helmet too - it has Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover and other Sesame Street characters all over it and Blayne would sleep in it if we let him. He wouldn't take it off in the store and then once we got it home, he kept in on the whole afternoon. It was pretty cute! I love that he does that now, when we get him something that he really likes, and he keeps it on for days. The first thing he did that with was a pair of sandals that have Cars on them (from the movie) and they light up when you walk. He's still pretty infatuated with those but for the first few days, they were attached to him at all times! So anyhoo, we got him the bike seat, put it together while he napped and then went for a bike ride Saturday afternoon. We got a little carried away though and went like 8 miles. Which was about 2-3 miles too much for me and Blayne. Sean could probably ride to FL and not get tired (jerk) but me & Blayne got a little worn out. By the end, Blayne was kicking Sean in the back to get him off the bike so he could get out. =) There's a really awesome bike trail near our apt though, it's called the Silver Comet trail and it used to be a train track but they paved it over so now it's a bike/jogging/walking trail. It goes all the way from just outside Atlanta to Alabama or something. But anyways, there are no cars on it so it's much safer than riding or jogging on the street. And it's all shaded and goes through some pretty neighborhoods. And we did have fun, Blayne LOVED the seat (for most of the ride) and we've gone on at least a short bike ride every day this week. Here's a few pics of the boys on their bike and us on the ride...

Getting ready to go!

I tried to get a pic of me and Blayne but he was WAY to interested in the flowers and his snacks to look at the camera...

And then, as you can tell from the above pics, my kid was in desperate need of a haircut. So Sean and I gave him one!! I know, it was a bit ambitious but Sean has a good hair clipper thing with different combs for different lengths and we figured we could totally do it! Plus Blayne sat so still for his first haircut, we figured he's be fine for this one! Wrong. He was heartbroken that we were cutting his hair. He cried the whole time. With tears and everything. He was being very dramatic about the whole thing actually (which took all of 10 minutes btw). It didn't hurt him at ALL either. The worst thing that happened to him was that he got hair all over the candy we gave him because he kept thrashing all over the place. But we got it done! And it looks pretty good if I do say so myself! See??

Before...

After!!

Is he cute or what?!?!

A week in the life...

So here's what a typical week with my son might look like....

Day 1 - Breakfast, consisting of neenaa (banana) and jooo (juice, which means any drink) and a caffle (waffle) on the couch

Find sunglasses, wear them for a few hours. Do NOT attempt to remove the binky...

Day 2 - wear Easter basket as a hat most of the morning...

Go bike riding that afternoon.
But to make the ride interesting, first place a large bouncy ball on the seat and then sit on that. Once you get on the bike, start yelling "Bye! See you later!" and head for the door.

Day 3 - Start off the day watching Peeeww Peeeww (Winnie the Pooh) surrounded by your favorite toys.
Later that afternoon, find a suitable ensemble for hanging out around the house... I believe the inspiration for this came from Pete' (he had a sock on his foot - don't ask why...) and Blayne felt the need to dress up too! If Pete' can look cool, so can Blayne by golly! So he's had me get him a hat, socks for his hands and lion slippers for his feet. Pretty sweet huh??

Day 4 - Spend the day hanging out with Mom and Dad and do a little shopping. Model my awesome new outfit that night
.

Day 5 - Go for a spin on my cruiser...

Later on work on my new 'do, this'll impress the ladies for sure!

And Day 6 (today) -
Amuse myself for a looonngg time by doing this!
